I am descended from Lt. James Torrey of Scituate,MA one of the four brothers from Somerset Englad, and I have my whole line established. HOWEVER, I would like to know about the Torreys in Vermont. I have a camp in North Ferrisburg and have discovered Torrey's in Ferrisburg and Vergenes but south in Addison County. I would like to know more about these Torreys. I suspect they are in Capt. William's line (he is the brother of Lt. James) but they could be Torreys that come directly from Scotland via Nova Scotia. Any information on Vermont Torreys would be useful. I have read all sort of wonderful informtion about Dr. Joseph Torrey, 9th president of the Univ. of VT. I would like to know where he is buried.
