If anyone has information on the Toran or Torah family please contact me. I am searching for my Grand Fathers decendants that ended up in Mexico.
Thank you, Rosario

Many years ago, I was friends with Tanya and Robert (Bobby Turan). It's possible that the "o" in the name may have been changed to a "u". This was in New Orleans, LA. Their father was Jack Turan. Is it possible that there is a family connection?

Hi Linda,
I'm interested to know a little more about the Turan's you mentioned. My maiden name is Turan and we are from MS, I would like to know if there's a connection here. Thanks in advance for your help.
Sincerely, Jackie

Hi Jackie, The Toran (Turan) family that I come from are known to be Jewish Mexicans from Michoacan. I really don't know much but what I know is that they fled from another country back in the late 1800's early 1900's. My grandfather's name was Arturo Toran-Lomeli and his father's name was Arturo Toran Bravo. Who exactly are you looking for? Thanks a million! Rosie

Hi Rosie, My Turan ancestors were from the south of France, the spelling of the name Turan was Turin, and I've also seen Thurin. Anyway, my ancestor's left sometime in the late 1700s to the early 1800s. I'm searching for information on Honore Turin, I'd like to find out if he came over to America alone or if some of his family came with him. The settled in and around LA and MS. Thank you for your response to my query, I don't think we will be able to help each other though.

The name of the father was Jack Turan. The name was originally Turansky. I believe his ancestors were from Russia. He may have been raised in the Jewish Children's Home, here in New Orleans, where my father was raised.
