My grandmother's mother was Wallie Fredia Topel, daughter of Rudolph A. Topel m. Emma Schultz. Rudolph Topel worked at Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC.
Does anyone have any more information on Rudolph and Emma?

I have a Rudolph Topel, Jr. in my family tree, but no spouse information. Do you have a date of birth or any other information about your Rudolph?

The Rudolph A. Topel that I have was born August 23, 1860 in Danzig Germany, and died July 06, 1937, Wrightsville Sound, in NC. He was married to Emma Schultz and they had 6 children.

How frustrating: I have 2 Rudolph Topels in my tree, but they are not the same as yours. The Topels seem to honor one another by naming their children after living relatives, so my guess is that the connection is in Germany. I am going to look up Danzig and see if the families are near one another geographically.

Hi!
Danzig is now Gdansk!
Stolp is now in Poland, Zezenow is now Cecenowo, and YES, the areas were in reasonable proximity.
Sheesh! We will surely connect the dots eventually.

LOL, it is like a big puzzle. I have not gotten any further back than Rudolph, it is like some one has build a brick wall and I have not figured out how to get through it.

Best of luck.

I am working on a book on German American landscape architects. I would welcome any information on Topel as well. The only information I have found this far is from the Airlie Gardens website and U.S. census data.

Thanks,

Would you have any photographs of Topel or know where any of his plans and correspondence might be located?

My great grandfather was Rudolph A. Topel. I have included what imericanformation I know in my Ancestry.com tree, but have also run into roadblocks as to who his parents or siblings were. Was he the first, only, of his family to come to America? Did he have a sponsor? The ship arrivals to Baltimore indicate he came first, followed by his wife Emma Schultz and 3 children.
If anyone has more info on Rudolph or Emma, I would appreciate that info.
Thanks!
