I have an Elizabeth Tooher who was born in Ireland and immigrated to NYC. She had my grandmother Ellen Egan in 1903 and it states she was 32 years old. She was married to Joseph P. Egan. I know of two other children for sure: Catherine Egan Kilduff and Benedict Egan. My grandmother had told me when I was young that she had 8 or 9 siblings. I believe Elizabeth died in Ireland around 1906. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I have not been able to find any info on the Tooher family. TIA Deb

My name is Joan White. My maiden name was Tooher. My great-grandfather was Bernard Tooher. He emigrated from Offaly in 1888 through NYC. He had a sister named Elizabeth and two brothers that I know of, John and Dennis. They resided in Albany, NY but I know some Toohers ended up in Connecticut. There is an Elizabeth (Lizzie) Tooher born in 1893 in Samford, Fairfield, CT. Somehow they must all be related. I know a little about my Toohers and it is an uncommon name - send me an e-mail.
