Toler, Tolar, May, Brooks
This is a real long shot. I am looking for any connection between the May and Toler/Tolar families of NC and later GA. My ancestress Elizabeth Toler born about 1790-1800 married John Brooks in Putnam County, GA in 1814. John Brooks' grandmother was a May. This branch of the Brooks and May families were from around Chatham County, NC. I have a suspicion that Elizabeth's mother may have been a May, but I have no proof or real evidence. I don't have Elizabeth's father's name, either, but he may have been Dempsey Toler/Tolar. Does anyone have any further information concerning a possible connection among these families?
