Hi Deborah,
Fritz is my grandfather, Terry (Thelma Fay Tokar) O'COnnor is my mom. We met briefly after your dad passed. I was living in LA, and had gotten to spend some time with him before he got sick, and I was so grateful. What an interesting man, and he was very much like my grandfather, so I took to him right away. He was a hero to us O'Connor kids, because he was a big Hollywood director (I was partial to Leave it to Beaver). He always kept us stocked with all the soundtrack albums from the Disney movies, which we listened to for hours.
I know he and my mom were pretty close when he was in NYC -- she may have worked for him, or with him on the radio show. I know she was also going to NYU at the time.
My mom and her sister Kitty made a pretty great family history album, so I may have some names, dates, etc.
I'm very drawn to Russian history and culture, and have found there's not much lit out there about life in The Pale, or shtetl life. I'm really interested in finding out is about the earlier generations of our family in Russia.
I realize this is a late reply to a long ago thread, but hope you see my response.
