looking for information regarding Tokar family from Cako Hungary (now Cakov Slovakia).
I have many letters from Dezso Tokar written to my g-grandfather. I believe Dezso had a sister Vera and brother Bela,
his parents were Janos and Margaritte Tokar.
I know Dezso was trying to come to US around 1945, I'm not sure if he made it.
Please contact me if any of these names sound familiar.
thanks!
Tracy

My Grandparents came from Czechoslovakia (somewhere near Prague from what I can remember) in the early 1900's. (Mathew Susanna Tokar)They first settled in Monessen, PA where my father (Mike) was born in 1914. A few years later they moved just across the river to Charleroi, PA where they stayed. I know there's still family in the "old country", I remember my grandmother writing and receiving letters when I was young. Matt and Susan had 13 children. Most are deceased now, but there are a whole lot of grandchildern, great grandchildern, and a handfull of great great grandchildern. Could we be distant relatives ???

My great-grandfather was John Tokar from Chechoslovakia, I don't know much else about his ancestors. But he married my great-grandmother, Mary Bavolar in 1918, before coming to the United States. If anyone thinks they may know more of either family, please write!
