They lived in Indiana, Haiti, and France. They were Christian missionaries. Do you have info on them? Supposedly, Dorothy was related to Robert E. Lee of U.S. Civil War fame. Dorothy's maiden name was Lee. Thanks. June Anderson

Toirac
Florent was descended from Huguenots who fled France to Switzerland. His grandparents emigrated to Cuba and his father married a Cuban woman. The name went extinct in France except for those who changed its spelling to avoid persecution. They had two daughters and a son.
I can get you the names of Dorothy's parents but that's as far back as I can go.

Hello! Wonderful to hear from you! I worked on Lois's ancestry mainly in 2008/09 when I was keeping Bowden for Gabe and Anita to work. I rarely have time to look at it now. How long have you been a member of ancestry.com? June

Kristina. Cant tell you anything about your family tree. But Florent Toirac is one of my life heroes. My father and he were good friends dating back to their time at Grace Seminary together. He stayed at my home many times while I was growing up in Greensburg PA. (He tried to fix me up with his daughter Susan. I wish in retrospect that'd been successful. Haha). I ran across your thread because I am going to use him as an illustration in an upcoming sermon the themeof which will be "Only one life will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last." When I was in my 20's Florent challenged me to go to Nigeria to train pastors he was in touch with. Another bad decision. . . I passed because I didn't have his pioneering spirit. He was in my view a great man, a good friend to my father, and a life well worth emulating. You should be very proud of your heritage. And good luck with your research.
