Hi Joe,
I don't know how I received your e-mail, but I am interested in your name. My great grand father was a Joseph Tofflemire, married to a Harriet Hoskins. And my father was a dentist Dr. Benjamin F Tofflemire. and his first name was actually Joseph.
I would like to hear from you . I would like to know who your father and grandfather, Tofflemire, were. Cheers Dawn

Hi Dawn,
My mom and dad are John and Ann Tofflemire of Post Falls, ID. My grandparents on my dad's side are Harris and Elizabeth Tofflemire who are from the Cincinnati are, I believe Norwood, OH. They are both deceased. Beyond that, I'm not really sure. Besides me, there are 8 other kids in my family and they are scattered from Los Angeles, Tucson, Spokane and Tokyo Japan. And of course me in Seattle. Where are you from Dawn?
In MyFamily.com, my father posted a picture of me and a gentleman I used to play football with, Steve Largent. I played from 1989-1995 for the Seattle Seahawks, that's how I ended up in Seattle. I was playing football and attending school at the University of Arizona in Tucson and was drafted by the Seahawks.

It's interesting that your father was a dentist. How was he related to the Tofflemire who invented the Tofflemire clamp that some dentist still use?

Hope all is well and am looking forward to hearing back from you.

Sincerely,

Joe Tofflemire

Hi Joe, Are you on Peggy Colella's "Myfamily site?" She is the author of the Tofflemire Book. I can't get back to her site because of the way my information was merged with the Dofflemyer site. Any way if not, her e-mail address is P_colella@juno.com

Hi Joe,
I have seen your name on Lists concerning the Sea Hawks.
My dad invented the "Tofflemire Univesal Matrix Band Retainer" Send me your e-mail address and ask me some question concerning Tofflemires in general, if you are interested .
Peggy Colella has the most information. P_colella@juno.com
I do have copies of eary Tofflemire information , encluding two generations of Tofflemires back in Germany , that I would be willing to share, but by snail mail.
Peggy is comming out with an update of her book. It would be nice if you and your siblings were in it.
Hope to hear from you Dawn

Hi Dawn,
Hope this finds you well. I was in my dentist the other day and he asked me if I was related to the inventor of the inventor of the Tofflemire Universal Matrix Band. I said I was somehow but I wasn't sure exactly how. He then asked me what your father's name was. I wasn't sure but I said I would find out as I had been in contact with his daughther Dawn and would ask her the next time I wrote her. He seemed pretty impressed. I'm going to look at the family tree to see how I'm related to you and your father.

I've heard about you the Tofflemire dental instrument since I was a little kid and it's really interesting to be in touch with the inventors father. Are there a lot of dentists in the Tofflemire family? I saw a picture of one (I don't remember his name) who was a dentist in the Navy.

I'm looking forward to hearing back from you and learning more about you and your dad and your family. Can you give me your email address again so I can send you some pictures of me and my son. Like many things, I can't remember where I've placed it.. Talk to you soon Dawn...
