Los Angeles Herald, Dec 19, 1890: Terrible Railway Accident. The acquaintance at The Palms of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Todd, who recently made a prolonged stay at that place, will be shocked to learn of their tragic death at Minneapolis, on the 10th inst. The old couple, who belonged at Sioux City, Iowa, had gone to Minneapolis to visit their daughter, Mrs. Slayton, wife of Master Mechanic Slayton, of the Kansas City road. While boarding a train for St. Paul on the morning of that day, Mr. Todd, his wife and daughter were instantly killed by an Omaha train whizzing by on an adjoining track. Mrs. Todd was literally cut in two. The remains of the victims were scattered along the track for a distance of 200 feet. Mr Todd was 67 and his wife 58 years of age.
