My great grandfather Vittorio "Vick" Todaro was born on 03/22/1877. He immigrated here in 1897. He worked in New Orleans then moved to Highbanks, Texas. His first wife was Catarina Salvatto. They had two sons...Tony and Nick. Second wife was Josephine Buffamante. They had four children, Filip, Mary, Virginia, and Joe.

Your earlier message indicated that your Vick had bros Ross, Sam and Joe-have you any further info on them? I have info on another line that includes these names but I'm not yet sure if its the same line. It seems Victor was a popular name in TODARO families.

My grandfather told me that Ross lived in the Bryan, Sam lived in Chicago, but he could not remember if Joe ever immigrated from Italy.

The dates I found for Ross are Dec. 18, 1869, Italy
Death: Feb. 15, 1956 Bryan (Brazos County). He was married to Catherine Montalbano Todaro (1882 - 1970).

I do not have much information for Sam or Joe. You are correct I think everyone used the same names when they named their children.

There are several family trees on Ancestry.com that match your family, as well as quite a few records. It also appears that you also have a tree posted, with a pretty good amount of information. What further info are you seeking?

It seems you are probably right that Guiseppe "Joseph" Todaro likely remained in Sicily/Italy. Though one tree I found seemed to indicate he traveled back and forth between the US and Italy several times, I think that information is likely incorrect. Giuseppe/Joseph was probably an even more popular Todaro name than Victorio/Vittorio/Victor.

Salvatore "Sam" Todaro (yet another very popular Todaro name), b.c1871-Italy; d.Chicago, ILL appears to have married Rose Spina, by whom he had at least 3 children - Thomas Anthony, Mary Rose and Theresa C., and possibly another son named Nicholas.
