Victoria was believed to have settled in PA (Conchehoken or Allentown) after immigrating from Italy. She had 2 children (Domenico and Elizabeth) by Frank Olliza. Elizabeth died very young -she was possibly burned. Victoria created a scandal when she left her husband and moved to New Orleans with her lover in the early 1900's. Her father was an interpreter for the Italian workers in the mines. She had a brother "Nick" and a nephew "Sammy". Really would love some information. Lcpo001@aol.com

I knew a Guy Todaro who lived in Gulfport, MS on Ford Street back in 1959-1961. Mr Mrs Todaro had a son Guy, Jr. who was about 3 years old at that time. Gulfport is only about 70 miles from New Orleans.

My Todaros originated in Sicily, most recently the town of Alia in Palermo. It is an old family with at least one branch bearing a coat-of-arms. They came through the port of New Orleans like most of the Sicilians of that era. My pggm Maria Todaro was the daughter of Salvatore Todaro and Anna
Sciascia.

Any chance the name Victoria Rosalie Todaro rings a bell. She had two children by Frank Olliza in PA.- Elizabeth who stayed behind in PA with VRT's parents but was killed in a fire when she was about two and Domenico born in 1901 in PA. She was in love with Francesco (Frank) Deliberto and followed him back to New Orleans. Her behavior was scandelous to the family (or so the story goes). We think the family entered the port in PA. Please put this into your file in case you come upon this info in the future. Thank you so much for your reply. I also will keep your message for the future.

My grandfather Jack (Jacimo) Todaro and his older brother Charles (Carlo)Todaro came to the US around the turn of the century once here they shorten the family name from Todaro to Todar. These two brother's married sisters Grace (Graciella and Marietta Cimo). I believe that they had several brothers and sisters John, Sam, Petrina, Marietta, and possibly Salvatore. I am almost sure that some of the relatives lived in New York.

Thanks Barry

For Barry. My grandfather,Frank, and one or more of his sisters came to the U.S. in the early 1900's. They were originally in New York City. My grandfather moved to Upstate New York. He brought his wife from Italy with him, and my mother and uncles were all born in Upstate New York.
The sisters stayed in NYC area. I have spoken to their grand-daughters on the phone before.

I have some information from my mother that I gathered before she died in 1996. She said that my grandfather, Frank, was the oldest of three boys, born around 1880. Had one sister, Stephanie. Grandpa's brothers, Luigi and Antonio came to the U.S. However, brother Joseph stayed in Sicily.
Antonio supposedly had twins, a boy and a girl named Edward and Stephanie.
My grandfather's father was named Mariano.
My grandfather's mother was named either Manuele or Manueli.
That's all I have for my maternal grandfather's side.
