Carrie Toedman - Kansas Schoolteacher in 1920's
Looking for information on one Carrie Toedman who was a schoolteacher at Defiance School in Woodson County, Kansas during the 1920's. She probably was kin to Mable and Florence (sisters) who were also school teachers. Both Mable and Florence were spinsters. Did Carrie ever marry? What happened to her?

Re: Carrie Toedman - Kansas Schoolteacher in 1920's
I purchased a vintage set of 22 quilt blocks and one of them has Carrie Toedman's name embroidered on it. I purchased them from a dealer in Chanute, Kansas and she thought they came from an estate in the area.
There are 21 very simply embroidered blocks as if done by a child or young girl. Images are of a heart, chicken, rooster, chick, pear, apple, frog, duck, hoe, top, flag, tree, dog, cat, clock and several flowers. The last block has Carrie Toedman's name done on it completed with more elaborate and technically superior craftsmanship. I suspect it was completed by her mother or grandmother.
Do you think these blocks could have been done by "your" Carrie??
