Joseph J. Tlumac Jr., 83,
of Acme, passed away Friday, April 4, 2008. He served in the Navy in World War II,
retired from the U.S. Postal Service
and enjoyed his life crafting rugs, among many other things. Born July 25, 1924, he was a son of the late Joseph J. Sr. and Mary V. Pivarnick Tlumac.
Besides his parents,
he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Heine Tlumac; a sister, Mary;
and a brother, Steven Tlumac.
Joseph is survived by his daughters, Lynda Jakes, of Bolivar, Judy Tlumac
and Theresa Geary, both of Acme;
and a son, Mark Tlumac, of Florida.
In addition are his brothers, Franklin Tlumac, of Randolph, Maine, Andrew Tlumac and his wife, Charlotte, of Irwin, and Edward Tlumac and his wife, Jane, of White; and sisters, Audrey Woodward and her husband, Russell III,
and Delores Klejka and her husband, Ronald, of Mammoth. Joseph was blessed with
grandchildren, Greg Joe and Jill Secorie, of New Florence, Rebecca and Raj Malik, of Washington, D.C., Susan Secorie, of Greensburg, Nicole Geary, of Minnesota, and Joseph Geary, of Mt. Pleasant;
and two great-grandchildren, Amber and Allison Secorie. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Raymond's of the Mountain Catholic Church, Donegal, with the Rev. Anthony W. Ditto as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Raymond's of the Mountain Cemetery, Saltlick Township.
