I also have Tkacz' in my family. They came from Dovholuka, Stry, Ukraine.
In Canada many spell their name Tekatch.
Anyone else with Tkacz' from Dovholuka?

Tkatch/Tkacz/Takash/Weber
I'm looking into my husband's grandfather who came to NYC from Russia-(possibly Ukraine) - Poland about 1903. In Brooklyn his name was Weber/Webber, but apparently it was Tkatch/tkacz/Takash back in Europe. Does the name tkacz mean "weaver" or "tailor"? We think that's why it got changed to Weber. Makes it very hard to find info. The family was Jewish.

Are the Tkacz/Tkach in your family from Galicia(Kalniza) Poland?
I have knowledge of a Samuel Tkacz( who had a daughter Mary(1890 to 1976). Once in the United States, they resided in Pennsylvania.
Samuel's father was Fedor(Frank) and married to and Ann or Annie Lestock.
