My husband is George Tkatch. His Father Harry Tkatch was born in Canada. His father, John, came from the Ukraine. George had an Uncle Nick and Aunt Polly who come to Florida every year to visit brother Harry. There are still cousins in Canada that my husband has not seen nor heard from for many years. This may be the same family. In our town, Oklahoma City, there is another family with the spelling Tkach who also came from the Ukraine to Canada. We think they are all connected somewhere but do not know anything to back that up. I have a book on our side of the Tkatch family. Will be glad to share information.

Re: looking for ancestors also Tkatch/Tkac,
My grandfather's original name was Edward Tkach, and his parents (my great grandparents) are originally from Ukraine.
His sister (my grand aunt) Rosalind Worthington (maiden Tkach) is still alive and living in Florida.
Ed Tkach changed his name from Tkach to von Rothkirch (wanted to appear German for some odd reason). He was an eccentric character and we don't have very much contact with anyone on that side of the family.
I can probably dig up the names of Ed & Ros's parents, if that would help.

Re: looking for ancestors also Tkatch/Tkac,
I* don't think that you would be any kind to us, From what I was told the last Name was TKATCH, is the way it was suppose to be spelled, and it was changed to Katz, when he got to Ellis Island. I cannot find any information on his arrival at all.
But thanks for the inquiry.

Hi my name is Deborah and my grandmother is Mary Tkac Basso, I am in search of Tkach or Tkac information from Austria-Hungary. Her father was Gyorgy Tkach (Tkac) mother Mary Durto Tkach. Do you have anything on them. He had brothers that came to America early 1900's with him I believe their names were Michal and Andro and a sister Helen. Please email back as I would love to hear from you and share what I have so far, if it will connect us wouldn't that be great! My grandmother is still living and is 96 and able to tell me things. Deb

My ancestor's name who migrated from Ukraine village Krasne near Gusjatyn in 1900s was Francesca Tkac she had a husband named John Tkac so she was not Tkac while migrating. They had a daughter Mary who had 2 daughters Kinda and Dana they should be 50-60 now! Franja and John are burried in Mannville Ukrainian cemetery RI. Here figures the names Richard and Antonina, I think they were Franja's children too. But Franja migrated with her sister Mary, she had 3 children but she died early. I know the concrete address Franja Tkac wrote letters from. But I don't know the fate of her children and her sister's children. Quality street 100 Church Line Manville RI 02838 - 1406 Providence USA
Is that familiar to you, can you check?

Hello,
My second great uncle was named John Tkach. His brother, or half-brother, was my grandfather, Andrew Peter Tkach Buzovetsky, who immigrated to Canada, from close to Kiev, in 1920. I think that he came with his (half?)brother. Andrew's father (Tkach or Buzovetsky?) was a wagon driver who also worked in some capacity at Kiev's train station. Andrew was born in Borodienka, Russia, in 1889.
Could we be related to the same John Tkach/Tkatch?
Susan (Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada)
