Dick Jacob Tjepkema, born 10 Aug 1884 in St. Jacob Parochie, Friesland, Netherlands (immigrated 1899), died 8 Mar 1916 in Vesper, Wood Co., WI, was the son of Jacob Johannes Tjepkema (1851-1935) and Ida (Ytje) DeGroot (1848-1925). He appears in Public Member Trees posted on ancestry.com. He married Gertrude DeGroot (1894-1980). The couple had seven children. He is listed in the 1910 U.S. Census data for Hansen Township, Wood Co., WI; the 1930 U.S. Census data for McMillan, Marathon Co., WI; and the 1940 U.S. Census data for Knox, Price Co., WI. He was employed as a cheese maker.
The other young man is probably Dick's younger brother, Klaas Jacob Tjepkema, born 1 Jan 1888 in St. Jacob Parochie, Friesland, Netherlands, died 8 Mar 1916 in Vesper, Wood Co., WI. He is listed in the 1910 U.S. Census data for Sherry, Wood Co., WI. He married Jantje Jennie Bouwman (1896-1942). The couple had one child.
