Great grandmother was Gesina Tjarks married Edward Johnson in LeMars or Cherokee IA. Have old letter written in German stating Mary Tjarks born Sept 9, 1891. Greatgrandmother's sister. All of her siblings ended up in Sibley and Gibson city ILL. All of these Tjarks family came from Ostfriesland Germany. There is also Jensens in the family, but I do not know how they all connect. Any info would be great! Thanks, Marie

According to my records Tjark Stevens married a Eke(Yke) Janssen on 14 Oct 1784. That is probably where the Janssen name comes in, but Tjarck Janssen also married a Imcke Stevens
(Stephaens) in 1695. They are all from Ostfriesland, Germany. If interested my Tjarks Family Tree is on line. Let me know if interested in looking at it. It is rather new and I'm adding more material almost daily.
