Hi,
I'm interested in any and all information on the TIVY family. My TIVY's are from St. Louis Mo, USA, but originally came from County Cork, Ireland.
Look forward to hearing from anyone.

Dear Natalie, Yours is the only message I've found related to the Tivy's. I have very little info, but would be thrilled to learn about my dad's family. He was born in 1946 somewhere in the US, maybe Ohio. He died in 1975, in the Chicago area. His parents were Vincent and Mary. If any other Tivys are out there, let me know.

Natalie Our family has links to the Tivy's in Cork, mainly through Ann Louisa Tivy b 1808 who married William James Tomkins a wine merchant in that city. The family appears to have been linked to the Lawrence, Ryder and Payne families, also of County Cork Yvonne Tomkins Sydney NSW

Hi Heather I am a Tivy of St. Louis Mo. and Nat is my cousin in Australia. we decend from two brothers, William & John Tivy who came to St. Louis in about 1850. There is a branch of Tivy's in Canada that also are of the same family in Cork as ours. Some of them came down into the states. Let me know if you want to go further with info as Nat and I have just about all the info about our two families. Mary Ann

Hi Heather,
I tried to send you a personal message but I didn't get a response, so I'm assuming your e-mail address is no longer valid. I hope you will see this or that someone you know will see it and forward it to you.
If your Vincent Tivy is the one I have in my family tree, he was born in Guatemala in 1916. His father, Vernon Tivy, was employed by the United Fruit Company (now Chiquita Banana), which is why he was born there. His mother's name was Monica Leach.
Vernon and Monica Tivy were from Jamaica. Vernon was born in Jamaica in 1883, the son of St. Leger Aldworth George Tivy and his wife Catherine McGrath. St. Leger Tivy was born in Co. Cork, Ireland and was one of the sons of Dr. Philip Ryder Tivy and his wife Elizabeth Laurence.
St. Leger Tivy died in 1930 and Vernon Tivy died in 1967.
Vincent Tivy had a brother, Lawrence and a sister, Vivienne. Vivienne married a Raymond Eby, who worked for Pan American airlines. He was an American.
Hope this helps. I've got loads more information, so please contact me.

Hello Cathy, Are you familiar with the name Julia Tivy? She is listed as the mother of my grandfather, Alexander Stewart, who was born in Jamaica @ 1890s. I have absolutely no information other than that about her. Thanks. Pat ( thebooklady1852@yahoo.com)

Hi Pat,
I haven't come across her. I'll send a private message to ask a few other questions.

Hello Cathy, and anyone else familar with the Tivy family connection to County Cork, Ireland.
I live in Australia, and I am seeking any information regarding the following:
My father Stephen Payne Tivy born 8 June 1936 (England). He was adopted by Charles Payne Tivy and Olive Breeze. They ran a type of school/home for deaf children(?). It is possible that this was Charles' second marriage. Quoting the Dublin Papers newspaper, they were married August 5 1933 at St Mary's Parish Church, Upton, by the Rev Canon R H Bellamy, B.A. "Charles was the second son of the late John Lawrence and Mrs Tivy, of Dublin, to Olive, fifth daughter of Richard and the late Mrs Breeze of Liverpool."
If anyone has any information they would like to share with me - I would be truly greatful.
Michelle.
