Hi James
My Grandparents came from Boyle in the Co Roscommon. Patrick (b1888). Its possible that his father, John is the one referred to in your email. You can see my tree on ancestry.com. Let me know if you see a link

I am also in the same family. MyGrandfather Vincent was one of Michael's and delia's son's. It is unbelievable how many ties we have in thwe city , but yet we could bnot identify each other. we should get some e-mails out to the famly and close this loop. Happy New year, maybe this is the ear we can get together.

Re: calling all Tivnan/Tivenan's
Hello! I just found your post whilst researching my family tree. My grandmother was a Tivnan who came over to England from Ireland when she was a child. Her name was Winifred and she came with her brother Joe. I believe there was at least 1 other brother Patrick. I haven't found her birth date yet, but she was married in 1913 to Richard Morrow who died in 1953. She died around 1970. We are conflicted about their origin, I thought it was Sligo and Richard Morrow = Mayo, but my elder sister insists the Tivnans came from Co Clare. I am building up a history to leave to my children and grandchildren and will hopefully unearth a lot more information. If you are still researching and would like an update, or could teach me something, I am more than happy to keep in touch. For now Good luck, best wishes Em ( Nee Eileen Barrass)

Re: calling all Tivnan/Tivenan's
Have drawen a complete blank while trying to trace anyone in my family !!. My Dad was from Coounty Roscommon, the boyle area and on his birth cert the name is Tivnan, but on his death cert it is Tivenan !. I have tried all the usual places .. census, local church records etc, but nothing !!!. He was a twin with James who stayed on the family farm. They had brothers .. Doninic, Peter and ?. One (i believe one was shot down as a gunner in the war)but have failed to find any proof. I was told by an Aunt I have relitives in Kent and dorset, but have yet to find them. Happy hunting ..
