Tevenon(Tevnan)/Gilmore
Do you have any idea who Bernard's parents (or grandparents)were? My grandfather, Patrick Gilmore came from near Dunmore, County Galway; one and maybe even two sisters of his married Tevenons (Tevnan?)

Tevnan McCullough
Bernard Tevnan had several brothers and sisters..some lived in Elizabeth NJ and others remained in Galway Ireland. Perhaps these are the sisters you mentioned. I don't know the year of Bernards birth - only that his son Martin was born in Elizabeth NJ 1925. Bernard was born in Galway and married an Elizabeth McCullough (immigrated from Scotland in the 18th century to Tyrone Ireland) Elizabeth McCullough Tevnan died in 1937 when her son Martin was 12 years old and buried in Elizabeth NY where Bernard had a tavern - Tevnan's Tavern. The tavern was a speakeasy during Prohibition
It was in the wee 1900's Martin Tevnan arrived in the States and sent for his younger brothers who were working the mines in Wales to earn money for the trip. Seven brothers and one sister came to the States and a few sisters remained.
Please post a reply with the information on the sisters that remained in Ireland

The sister that I refer to would be Mary Gilmore. (I'm not even certain that my grandfather Patrick had more sisters) She is the one who may have married a Tevnan......no idea of a first name. I do believe she remained in Ireland.
