Titchen family tree

Your post was interesting...never heard of Titchenal. Where does your family originate from. The Titchen's, as I understand it, originiated in Germany. When the German and English royalties formed an aliance, our branch of the family migrated to England, and branched to the United States and Australia. Wondering if there is a possibility of our branch, somewhere, dropping the "al" and becoming just Titchen?

Dear Robin, I actually have a first cousin named Roberta Titchenal who goes by "Robin". Anyway, our family has been collectively doing research and we are having a family reunion at Lake Wenatchee in central Washington State this Saturday, July the 8th, which we have been anxiously looking forward to. I also work as a real estate broker and have a customer by the name of Dan Menard that works out here at The Dalles Dam, on the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington. As near as I can tell, there are many forms of the Titchenal/Tichenor name and they apparently derive from a small town called "Itchen" in England, but we always thought our ancestors were from Alsace-Lorraine on the French-German border. We're still working on it. Have you been to MyFamily.com? We are filling in our family tree as time allows and information becomes available. Email me back when you get a chance. Cathy

Cathy, I appreciate your reply, and I went to Myfamily.com. How do I get to the family tree to see if I can find a connection between your family and mine?

Thanks

Robin

On another similar topic of what's in a name -

My family grandfather and grandmother"Reitelman" emigrated to NYC from Titchen (Jewish [pronunciation of what probably is Tuschen in the pre-WWI Polish part of the Ukraine) grandfather in 1911 and grandmother and 3 children in 1921

When I was growing-up in NY there was a Jewish Cemetery for the Titchenah Society - a section - within the Beth David cemetery in Nassau Co.

What is the origin of your name(s) Titchen -
Titchenal?
