"Mrs. J. F. Gaus of Millbrig died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Abraham Ostendorf, on Ridge Street. She came to town some days ago to receive treatment, having been ailing with a complication of diseases. It was not known she was so near death and she passed away suddenly before her husband could be summoned. The family are old residents of Millbrig. The deceased was about 61 years of age.
Eight children survive her. They are Mrs. Abraham OSTENDORF of Galena, Mrs. WILLIAMS of Loseyville, Ill., Mrs. Maggie REDICKE of Missouri, Mrs. R. B. GLASSER of Lansing, Iowa, Mrs. Gottlieb KLETT of Menominee, one son and daughter at home, and a son in Duluth, Minn. The funeral of Mrs. J. F. Gaus took place from the residence of her son-in-law, Abraham Ostendorf, Sunday afternoon. Rev. J. Mueggi, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, conducted the services, which were attended by a large concourse of friends. Internment was made at Greenwood."
