I don't know anything about his immigration, or whether
this is the same person.

I will try to find it and send it to you privately.

There are two resources you should check out. The first is the
book "The History of Jackson, Wisconsin 1843-2001", published
by the Jackson Historical Society. Their website:
http://villageofjackson.com/history.htmThere is an email address at the bottom of the page.
This book has a lot about the German immigrants who
first settled the area. It has a very short article about the Tischers;
but it's mostly useful for background.
The first church was David Star ("David Stern" in German)
Lutheran Church. The records for this church (from founding
to about 1915) have been microfilmed by the Mormons and
are available through their family history centers. (If you're
not familiar with them, see
http://www.familysearch.org )
If you are in the area, you may be able to arrange with
the church secretary to see the original records, including
later ones.
Because I'm descended from several families who
settled there, I've photocopied quite a few pages from the
microfilm, which is why I had the Juliane Tischer/Franz Ohm
marriage record. I have not worked on filling in the Tischer
descendants much yet (busy with other branches).
(Though that was the intent my posting here.)
If you don't hear from me again soon, remind me to send
you whatever other contacts I have.
