Looking for any information on Godfried Tischendorf, of Saxony, Germany, 1797, who had three children, Gottlieb (1829), John Henry (1838), and Godfrey(1822). Godfrey married Johanna (maiden name unknown) and they had 6 children, Ida, Harmon, Elvina, Anna Lee, John, and Henry. Ida married William August Guenther in 1883 and they settled in Santa Claus, Indiana. Thanks
Tischendorf's of Saxe-Weimar

We believe that my wife's g grandmother may have been related to Gottfried or Godfried Tischendorf.
We have a record whereby a Fredrike Mathilde Tischendorf, my wife's g grandmother, was Christened on 05 Sep 1858, at St. Peters Evangelical Church in Louisville, Ky. She was the daughter of Hermann Tischendorf and Elisabetha Robenstein.
Santa Claus, Indiana is about 75 miles of so from Louisville.
There are still Tischendorf's living in Louisville.
By the way, Frederike or Rica, married my wife's g grandfather, Thomas Hasselbach, in about 1875.
regards,
Don and Pat Pfaadt
