We have spoken on the phone, you called me and we discussed this being not "Dutch" but "Deutch" as in the German - Deutch. They were either United Empire Loyalists or Prussian soldiers who fought for the English during the war of Independance. There are many sites relating to the subject. When we can trace the Canadian lines back far enough to find out it will all fall into place.

My Tipp (Wilhelm Tippe) came from Germany c1776 to fight for the British during the American Revolution. He was captured at Saratoga, NY and then escaped. He disappeared for the rest of the war. In the 1790s he appeared in Upper Canada (Ontario). I believe he had 3 sons (John, Daniel and William Christian). These Tipps all remained in Ontario. Only William Christian had any sons (that I know of).

Do your Tipps have a connection with Ontario

Hi, David... I recently changed my email address and was wondering if we still had stuff to exchange. William Christian is my g-g-g grandfather through his daughter Nancy.

Regards,
Marilyn

Hi my name is Christina Tipp, I am the youngest daughter of Amelia Tipp and my grandad's name was William Tipp. He was married to Bridgett Lillian Tipp(unknown maiden name)
My fathers mother and father: he had several brothers that left on a ship and lost contact with.

If you have any info I would love to learn more about my family. A nice little bit of trivia is that william tipp is on the hartlepool(uk) ww2 memorial. Thanks again, nice to hear from another Tipp.
