My grandfather is John William Tiplady born in Pontefract, Yorkshire 1926. His family were apart of a travelling community, hence his brother were born in different places.
His father, and grandfathers (who were painters and plumbers), were born around the Luton and Watford areas, right back to George Tiplady who was actually born in about 1802 in West Rounton, Yorkshire.

Does anyone have any information on George and his ancestors?

Paul

Hello,

I am researching the family of Robert Hunter & Ann Tiplady who married 24 Jul 1820 in Ottringham, ERY. I think she was the dau of William Tiplady and was bapt 8 Sep 1799.

Maybe we could help oneanother?
Linda

William Tiplady and Elizabeth Harman's son, Robert Tiplady, whom I believe is Zachariah's older brother. Zachariah born 1804 and Robert, born 1798.

Robert married Mary Crawford and one of their sons, Thomas Tiplady married Ann Binnington (Swine and Ganstead respective) who then gave birth to my direct line, Kate Tiplady who married Alfred Smethurst. This effectively ended the Tiplady surname in my blood line :)

Hi - just spotted your postings from 2005; my family came form Beverley East Yorks, traced back (only) to mid C19th. My grandfather (Sam)and his father (also Sam) were Barbers in the town. Could there be any connection with 'your' Tipladys? Peter
