I don't have any information about your English Tipett, but I do have some information about your Indiana Tipetts. Interestingly enough, I have an ancestor Grant Tibbett, which I almost confused with a cross-over name from Tipett. If you look at the Indiana census, you'll find that your Grant Tipett was son of John Wesley Tippett and Sarah Johnson (in 1870 Cass Co., IN census). From appearances it would seem that John's mother is Jemima. And, if you follow it on back, you will find that Jemima was married to Maximilian Tippett of Maryland. That's in the 1850 Cass Co., IN census. That's all the farther I went because I wanted to be certain that the name crossed over. But, from the looks of the 1900 census, your Grant Tippett and my Grant Tibbett are two separate people. Oh, well, back to the drawing board for me. Hope I helped.
