Most of my Tincher information came from a grandson of John Benjamin Tincher. I have all information from Benjamin Franklin (Bennie) Tincher (my husband's father) that I would be glad to share with you. Also I would be interested in purchasing a copy of The Tincher Tribe from you. Charlotte

Steve,
I really hope this thread is still active because recently I have been trying to connect all the lines in my family tree. Unfortunately I can't get past my great grandfather Elmer R. Tincher (1909-1986). He was married to Gladys Biatha McKinley in 1930 and had two sons, Allan Herbert Tincher Sr. (1935-2008) and Jon Daniel Tincher (1937). They were from Michigan from what I can tell.

I've been trying for years to connect the Midwest Tinchers to the Tinchers out east but no luck. (I find it ironic that you and my father, Steven (Omar) Tincher share the same name) Any help is welcome and if you can get links to Elmer I can get you the links to his sons and subsequent family members.

Sincerely,
Katelyn Tincher-Silver

Katelyn - Your ggf Elmer R Tincher is mentioned in The Tincher Tribe. According to the book, he was born 30 Mar 1909. His parents were William Edward Tincher (b. 28 Oct 1877 D. 1912) and Nannie Lyman (b. 8 Feb 1890). He had an older brother, Herbert Tincher (b. 23 Dec 1906), who married Jennie Coons.

William's parents were Algonan Harvey Tincher (b. 20 Jun 1858 d. 6 Jul 1915) and Elizabeth Atchison (1860-1928), who married 27 Nov 1876.

If desired, I would be willing to copy, scan and send you some of the applicable pages regarding your ggf.

I am the Great,Great Grandson of John B. Tincher. He is an elusive person to find on the web. I only have family stories and 1 picture of him. Have you been able to find him as a Cherokee or any other references to him? Would really love talking to you sometime. Walter Rucker
