I have been trying to find information for my fathers family who lived in Hazel Patch
Kentucky. There were 13 children in the family. Mothers name was Rosa Day. Second marraige for Mills Wells who had a son from the first marraige, first wife? died. Children were Adel, Albert, Virgil, George,
Nola, Mary, Emma, Golda, Etsie, Joel,Jesse,
I do not remember the other two names. I have researched the census records for Laurel County and did not find any one listed under the name Tinch. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I may find some information?

I am the daughter of June and granddaughter of George David, Mills Wells son. I have Mills' parents as George "C." Tinch and Mary Busato. This info comes from a very crumpled and faded family Bible. The info is not written in an orderly manner. It is skip here and there. We do not know the author for sure of most of it so we do not know if it was done by memory (which is often faulty) or as it occurred. The name Busato is one that we could not even find existed until a year or two ago. Busato is a legitimate name but we do not know much else. However, I do not believe Mills mother and wife had the same surname--at least at this point until convinced otherwise. Goodluck, Cuz

Lori: thank you for the information. My father was Jesse Wiley. I did not have the full names of the other family members. Is the surname for Mills Wells first wife correct, "scroggins", that was the name you gave as the surname for Mary Scroggins, George Washington's wife. Your information is greatly appreciated. I have other responses to contact and am eager to hear from them all.

Hi Faye:

I was surprised to see your response to the message board. Your mother is my cousin. My dad was Jesse Wiley. I was confused by the name Scroggins for both the Wife and Mother of Mills Wells. I hope someone has some verification for us. I am trying to get back to my project so I appreciate any information I can get.
Tell your Mother I said Hi, she was a very special lady from my youth!

Hi Linda, Good to hear from you. Mom thought you must be Uncle Jesse's daughter. She has fond memories as well. Please write me at my home address and I will send you some neat stuff that I just recently got from a generous Scroggin's researcher. erie505@webworks2000.net G'luck. Cuz Faye
