Debbie,
Thank you so much for answering my e-mail. This is so wonderful! I am still in shock over finding Maureen after all these years. Maureen was icing on the cake; all I had in mind when I started my search was to find out about Grandma's family. As I get older (I'm 48 now) things that didn't seem to matter are really important to me now. If I had been more interested at a younger age while there were still the older members of the family alive, maybe I would know more about my family than I do now. Oh well...you can't go backwards just forwards!
I would love to have any info, copies, etc. that you might have and would be willing to share with me. (This is still all so unreal...). My address is 1206 Stoney Fork Road, Deep Gap, NC 28618.
It's so amazing to me that we are related with thousands of miles between us. My Mom is out of town visiting my cousin and I can't wait to tell her that there are Timbey's still alive. Your immediate family is like my Dad's; they all had girls, so the family name has died with my generation.
I have one picture of Great Grandma Elizabeth (Samuel Timbey's wife) in Ireland. As far as I know this is the only picture that we have of her, and the only picture of any of the family taken in Ireland. Maybe you can find something out about Grandma Elizabeth? Momma believes that her maiden name was Watterson (I'm not sure about the spelling). I'm assuming that she came from the same area of Ireland as Grandpa Sam.
Maybe you can help me? I know that the Timbeys came from Belfast, but in my searching I keep running into locations called Antrim, Derry, etc. Are these neighboring communities? And were the Timbeys really from one of those rather than in Belfast? You said that you live in ngland, is that England? Also, did your side of the family move to England at some point in time?
As I have told Maureen, I apologize if I'm driving you crazy with all my questions. It's just so very interesting to me.
Will let you go now. I will keep in touch. Again, thank you so very much!
Take care,
Marie
