I have put together a lot of information on this branch of the Tilcamp family, which can be found in my public tree: Van Bibber Family Tree

Stephen: Thank you so much for all the research you have made on Benjamin Tilcamp. Ben Tilcamp Jr. was my grandfather and the father of my mother, Dorothy Emily Tilcamp. I notice that
you only have records for my half brother and my sister, Martha. There are six more children of Dorothy's still living, if you would like to look at my tree. I actually only had information on Benjamin Jr and very little on his father and mother. Thank you for allowing me to view your records.

Judy, I don't descend from the Tilcamp family, myself. My cousin Jeanne Tilcamp Shockley was the daughter of William Tilcamp, Benjamin Jr's brother. Jeanne's mother was William's second wife Elsie Van Bibber, my father's sister. This means your mother was the first cousin of my first cousin. I'll have a look at your tree to fill in the gaps in my own. Thanks, the Tilcamp family has been a hard one to research.
I haven't worked on the Tilcamps for about a year, but something I remember is that there were a lot of deaths in Ben Sr's family in a relatively short time, which took both parents and several of the children. The other children, most or all of them minors if I remember correctly, stayed together. Ben Jr would have had a lot of responsibility thrust upon him at an early age. Something to admire him for.

Benjamin Tilcamp Sr and Ellen Schlaeter
Benjamin Tilcamp was my great grandfather and he was the father of my grandfather, Benjamin
Tilcamp who was married to Martha Schneider. I have a little information on him that I found only
recently. My mother use to talk about Ellen Schlaeter who was her grandmother.
