I am looking for information about Thomas Tigner born in Virginia. At the time of the 1850 census, he was 26yrs and living in Ohio Twp, Spencer Co, Indiana, with his wife Elizabeth A (28yrs, born in Iowa), and 4 children (Henry-9, Mary E(lizabeth)-5, Sarah C-4, and Dorillas-a boy-1).

All the children were born in Iowa. Immediately adjacent are 2 men also born in Virginia, who likely are Thomas' brothers: Smith (25) and Walton (27).

The 1840 census indicates he had already established his own household in the same place with a woman also between 15&20yrs. An adjacent household is for William Tigner (betw 40-50) who may well be his father.

There are several counties in Virginia which are possible birthplaces: King & Queen, Henrico, Northumberland, and Russell.

If the information is correct, Thomas is my ggggrandfather.
