Re: TIGER, Oklahoma. Creek
Would you happened to be connected to John Tiger father of Jeff Tiger from the Spavinaw/Salina/Wickliffe area of OK? I am trying to find out when this particular John Tiger died. Thank you.

Re: TIGER, Oklahoma. Creek
My mother will be 80 yrs. old on March 16 th. I have been doing her genealogy for almost 4 yrs. now. She was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Mary Wadsworth and Chief Samuel W. Brown, Jr. My great great grandmother on my mother's maternal side was Matilda Tiger-Jackson. Her 1 st. husband was Jeff Tiger and she was married to him the indian way for one year. That one year of living together produced no children. I found an excellent site by Lance Hall who has all copies of the Dawes Enrollment Cards online. Jeff Tiger did get married again to another wife but as of this time I haven't had a chance to dig any deeper into this. Type in Dawes Enrollment Cards and on the next menu look for the site by lancehall. It's worth looking into.

Re: TIGER, Oklahoma. Creek
Hi Felix, I am researching the origin of the town of Tiger, OK. It seems that it may have been named for your family. Can you tell me the origin of the name? Is there any connection with "tigers"?
Sincere thanks in advance for your help.

Re: TIGER, Oklahoma. Creek
Since my original posting, I now realize Jeff Tiger IS NOT AN ANCESTOR OF MINE. It turns out there were 2 Matilda Jackson's. My great great grandmother, Matilda was Matilda Root-Jackson-Barr. I do have the Dawes Enrollment Packet for this "Jeff Tiger." I bought the packet from the National Archives in Fort Worth, Texas back in 2004 for $20. It's a copy of all this other Matilda (Tiger)Jackson & Jeff Tiger's files. Annmarie
