Hello,
I would try the Hoosick Historical Society; www.hoosickhistory.com.
General questions can be emailed to:
Staff@HoosickHistory.com

There are some photos on their website of farms, but I don't see anything that indicates what farms they are!

By the way...I would be interested in what you connection to Tifft/Tefft family would be. I am a desc. of Sarah Tifft, who married Russell Steere and removed from RI to Littleton, NH.

Thanks for the information

Abram B TIFFT 1812-1893 and Hannah Jones Tifft 1824 - 1901 were my gr gr grandparents. Believe both were originally from Hoosac Rensselaer NY

They moved to Rock WI ab. 1855 and raised a family of 12.

There may be a RI connection as I have not been able to definitively identify Abram's parents.

You may contact me directly at: robert.doran@comcast.net
if you want to explore the RI connection

Well, apparently some branches of the Tefft family of RI changed their name to Tifft, Teft, Tift, etc. over the course of time. Perhaps the Hoosick Historical Society will also have vital record info...if you believe Abram was born in Hoosick.
If you do find a connection to RI, let me know!
Good luck,
Lisa

I have not found a relationship between the Tifts and Yates in my family line.

You may want to search the federal census and the Rensselaer County, NY genaealogy web site http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nyrensse/

There are many Yates buried in the Yates Cemetery located in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer CO NY. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nyrensse/cemy1.txt

Good Luck

I am descended from Lindall Jones daughter Cinderella, married Henry W Babcock of Petersburgh NY. I have some more info on this side if you are interested, and a photo of Cinderella Jones Babcock. Her daughter Cirrella married another Tifft as well.

I am a descendent of Lindall Jones daughter Amanda who married Franklin Millard. The Hudson & Mohawk Valleys book is the only place I have found her mentioned. The family trees never mention her and she seems to have dropped out of sight. There was an Amanda M. Millard and Franklin Millard who lost a 3 year old son in 1843 in Bennington, VT. Does anyone have a connection?

I am a descendant of Lindall JM Jones through his daughter Hannah Jones Tifft.

I have researched almost all the Jones family members from the 1500s to the present and Amanda is an enigma.

Perhaps if you would share your tree with me there would be two of us searching for the Millards
