Frederick & Catherine Tiddiman or Tiddeman of Faversham & Maidstone Kent arrived in Sydney Australia on 27 May 1855 in the ship Constitution. There were many deaths on the voyage & later in quarantine. A monument was erected at the North Head Quarantine Station to commemorate the voyage & those who died. A reunion of surviving passengers was held in 1905 at the memorial site. The monument survives, see http://nla.gov.au/nla.pic-an23816980 . The 150th anniversary of the voyage is to be celebrated on 17 July 2005 at the North Head Quarantine Station, Manly NSW. The celebration is to be opened by the Governor of NSW & a book about the voyage will be launched. Contact Rob Wills, 30 Samarinda Way, Point Lookout QLD 4183 Australia.
