I am looking for any information that someone may have on Moses Tidd, born about 1772 in Virginia. He was married to Katherine Cockrell, Susanna Huffman and Eliza M. EcEntire. I am at a dead end when it comes to his father, mother or siblings. Any information would be greatly appreciated. He later lived in Ohio. Children included: Peyton, Elijah, Isaac F., Henry and Samuel. Thanks!!

I am also a descendent of Moses. I have a ton of info on his descendents, but nothing on his parents. Let me know if you find out anything (beyond whatever gets posted!).

Hello Evelyn,
I saw your query today by chance. I am also looking for information on the Tidds. Moses and I believe Susannah were my great great grandparents, the parents of my great grandfather Henry H. Tidd. What documentation do you have of Moses' wives? I've found quite a few things on the IGI and other sites but can't seem to put it altogether.
I would be glad to hear from you.
Sincerely, Ilene Butler

Hi, I just noticed your post on the Tidd forum on Ancestry.com and thought I'd answer you. He's my Great-great grandfather also. Here's a link to information on the wives of Moses. http://genforum.genealogy.com/tidd/messages/192.htmlHope this helps! Bonnie P.S. Do you by chance have any information on Edna J. Tidd's husband, Albert Watson? I'm looking specifically for info on his mother and father.

Hi, thanks for the link, I do have that information. I have the same thing that you have on Albert Watson's parents, Ewing Watson and Sarah Jane. Have nothing more, just census records and that they were born in Pennsylvaina and moved to Ohio. My Great-grandmother Abigail(Tidd)Johnson was Addison Tidd's sister. Thank you for contacting me, Evelyn

Hi, this is Bonnie, but not the same one as above. I just want to let you know that Susan and Ewing are brother and sister, not husband and wife. I have it wrong on my tree also, but it's too hard to change. My brother told me that he knows who Susan's husband was, but we haven't been in touch since then and I've lost track of him. He read it in an old family bible. Anyway, just wanted to clear that up. Albert is my great grandfather and his name shouldn't have been Watson, it should have been his father's name, whoever that was. I suspect Susan got pregnant out of wedlock and the family helped her raise Albert and his brother. If you've found out anymore about the Tidds or Albert, let me know.
Thanks,
Bonnie Watson

Hi Bonnie, I can't believe I just found your info on Susan and Ewing. I have not worked on my Tidd line for sometime but will go in and make corrections. I appreciate your input and thank you. Evelyn

I got this off of a microfilm some years ago: Marriage Record: The State of Ohio Scioto County, I hereby certify that I joined together in the holy state of matrimony on the 11th day of January 1816 Moses Taid and Catherine Cockril of lawful age given under my hand and seal this 15th January 1816.

Evelyn, since the last time I posted, I've remembered some things about Albert Watson that my father told me and also a picture of him I saw. He was very tall, had long red hair and looked like an indian. In fact, he told everyone he was an indian. So...I'm guessing his father was an american indian. Interesting.
