I looked further and found another Edwin Arthur and also Sarah Edna (Eliza) Tooke. They are on P. 225-6 of the book. Edwin is listed as generation VIII, number 10, although I don't know who from! He was the 10th child of John Arthur and Anna Nixon Vickers. B. Jan. 21, 1860 at Tooke Plantation, d. Jan. 6, 1937, buried at Rocky Mount Cemetery west of Ringgold. Married Jan. 24, 1885, Bienville Parish, La, Susan Harriett Sledge, B. June 27, 1866, Runggold, La, Dau. of John Sledge and Sarah Harper. Died Jan. 24, 1918 at home, Hickory Grove Plantation, Buried at Rocky Mount Cemetery. Edwin Arthur was born just before the outb reak of the civil war and was too young to know or feel the calamity of the war. At the age of twenty five, he married, built a home on his portion of the old home place and reared his family of one son and five daughters. Three of the children married and settled in their own homes before the death of theri mother in 1918. A few years after her death, ther three younger girls went into Bossier City to live while working there and in Shreveport, here Edwin Arthur joined them. His remaining years were spend among his children, he died at the age of 77. There are 2 children of this family living in 1968, having theri homes west of Ringgold in Bienville Parish. Their 6 children were: Howard, Sarah Edna, Viola, Ruby, Myrtle, and Vera.
