Looking for information about my great grandparents who come to Wisconsin in approximately the 1860s. Charles Tichacek (1856-1935) and Mary Sazama Tichacek (1862-1950) lived near Leopolis, Shawano County, Wisconsin. Their parents were Matijas and Anna Tichacek and Adam and Dorothea Sazama.

Andrew (Andreas) ( 1834-1927) Sidlo and Mary Steffek Sidlo (1833-1916) immigrated to Manitowoc County and farmed near Kewaunee, Wisconsin. "Sidlo" is listed as "Schidlo," the Czech pronunciation in the 1870 census. Their parents were Thomas and Mary Steffl? Sidlo and I don't know who Mary Steffek Sidlo's parents were.

Looking for any information about these families, but especially where they may have come from in Bohemia and names of brothers and sisters.

Ok this is what I have here.

Matijs Tichacek (Americanized to Mathias)
b. bet. 1816-1821 in Bohemia
d. 1903
burial 1903 in Stratford Wa.
Census has him in Seneca, WI in 1880 at 64 years of age.
Don't have his parents. He married Anna whose last name I don't have. But she was born in 1825 in Bohemia and Buried in Kimball Township, MN

They had 5 children Mary, Charles, Jakob, Johann, and Agnes. I can get more specific with birthdays and stuff as well as Mary's line on down to me but I won't type it all out unless your interested :-)

I have in my file: Mathias Tichacek born 1816 in Usilov, southwest Bohemia. His children: Jan 1851, Karel 1856, Agnes 1859, Jakob 1865. Jan (John) emigrated before 1869 to America. It is probably your family.
Families Sazama, Steffek Schidlo lived also in same region. Lot of emigrant from this area settled down in Wisconsin.
Family Zoglman can be from a village of region by German border (Vseruby, Hirsov, Pocinovice) in the neighbourhood.
All the best from Czech. Tony.
