I am looking for information regarding a Montague Ticehurst, known to have died in 1972.

He is likely to have married a woman by the name of Doris (perhaps with a maiden name of Muzzy?), and he may have had a daughter named Alice. His mother was likely to have been Alice Hemsley. His father may have been named Montague, as well.

If any of these names sound familiar, even if the relationships don't, please do reply here with whatever information you have.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm... I found a SSDI record that mentions a Doris L. Ticehurst born 24 Sept. 1908 but died 31 Mar. 2000 in Anaheim, Orange, CA.

Any thoughts?

That date and place certainly makes more sense then the date I have, since I always wrote to her in Calif. I will recheck my source as I may be in error, or have the date on the wrong Doris. thanks for responding.

Not a problem. I'm just worried that I may have grafted your Montague Ticehurst onto my tree without enough evidence. Do you have any Alices (mother or daughter) or Hemsleys anywhere in that general area of the tree?

here is the whole blurb: Doris Lorraine Muzzy was b 24 Sept 1908 Corunna, MI in the home of Carles Daniel and Betsy. She married 7 Jan 1*927 in New York City, Montague Ticehurst. Monte was born in Framfeld Sx., England 2 April 1905 and died 3 Dec 1972 at Spulveda, CA in the Vet's Hospital. He had served in the US Navy in WWII. They had no children but did adopt a daughter, Alice Lorraine who was b 21 Dec 1932 and married Jack Hoag and they had five children and were divorced. She married second, Donald Crossley in CA. That's alright, the full blurb should help. I've deduced (using mostly just logical thinking) that Montague was the son of a female Hemsley, and that her name may have also been Alice. Thanks for all your help!

I would just like to clarify something, just in case you have it wrong in your notes: The name of the place in California where Montague died was Sepulveda, and it's now known as North Hills. (The name changed in 1992.)

Also, who are Charles Daniel and Betsy? Are those Doris's parents? Because I'm finding two other people's trees as having them listed as Fred Nelson Muzzy and Florence Lavina Speace. I'm also finding her middle name spelled as "Lorain" in one of them. It also has her listed as having died in Allen Park, MI. How do those piece of information fit into your notes?
