My grandfather, Hugh Tibbel, son of Thomas Tibbel was born in Dresden, Ohio?, USA in 1863. He married Sarah Jane Greer and settled in Muskoka. He died in 1920. If you have any information on his family I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

I have very little on Hugh. I know that his grave is in the first cemetary of Old Parry Road, in Utterson or Lake Rouseau area.

Surnames: Jane Greer :: Bernice Pollard
Contact Greers in Bent River Ontario, they can tell ya all about Jane Greer, I met Oliver , and Lloyd and Gilbert Greer, they are my moms cousins and are nice , also check out Doreen Loshaw and Yvonne Greer also.

Check out possibility of Jane being sister to Art and Tommy Greer, or is Jane a daughter to Andy Greer , he was almost 100 when he died mom said, he was Mr showmanship apparently, played the drums and fife in parades she said.
My mom thinks Jane might be his daughter as he moved to the States, Regardless the Greers = Bent River, thats where you centre your search, My mom Bernice Pollard McCormick loved the Greer kids, they were her cousins , I remember Debbie, Lloyds daughter when I was up visiting from Toronto where I grew up, she was a bit older then me, Im 49 now <oh my God I cant believe I said that : )) >

Thanks so much for this. I forgot that I was listed in this community. Believe it or not I saw that headstone many, many years ago. In fact it would be around 35 years ago. But, I couldn't remember the name of the place.

This is wonderful.
