I'm looking for any information on Thomas Tibball
and Elizabeth Anderson. I am trying to confirm that
EMMA JANE TIBBALL, who married JOHN VERITZAN
was their daughter.

This family lived in Brooklyn, NY.

George --

I have record of a William Tibbals in New York City (Brooklyn) in the early 1800's. He owned a toy store on Broadway. He had a son named Willaim also. Does that match with anything you have?

The father of William A. Tibbals owned a famous toy shop at 95 Broadway in New York City. He was an inventor of mechanical devises and is 'generally credited with being the originator of the hobby horse'.

William A. Tibbals, who was born in NY City, left home while very young and adventured west and established himself eventually on a ranch near Huntington, Indiana, where he married Ella M Bash.

I have more information. If you're intereted, please reply. /TT

Yes, I'd love to see what you have. My email is cindy.matthews@telops.gte.com.
William A. died in an interurban accident somewhere in Indiana and was buried at the site of the accident, in either 1892 or 1894. Since Ella M had died in 1891, the three children (Clarence Louis, Augusta, and Florence) were put in other homes. They are listed as servants in some later census records. My grandmother (Florence) would never talk much about her childhood, although since she was 5 years old at the most when both parents had died, I'm sure she didn't know anything about them.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
