I will have to check but I think my Thwaites connection is from Woodstock area going back to mid to late 1800s when they emigrated to Michigan. Is that right area?

Did you find a connection to Jenny Thwaites family? Your mention of Woodstock area-to-Michigan in the mid to late 1800s lead me to believe you might be related to my wife. Are you the Dorothy Helen Byers listed on pages 50 and 51 of the book: "The Thwaites Family Genealogy Including the Ferguson, Edmonds Dunford Branches of the Family" compiled and edited by James M. Dunford. If you have a copy of this book, my wife and I are listed on pages 231, 232 and 243. I did not find a listing for John Henry Thwaites in this book.

I am researching Thwaites, William Jackson born 20Sept. 1824 Appleby Uk married Dorothy Wilson Hedworth in Uk, they came to Canada and settled around the Madoc Area which is north of Belleville. They ran a hotel north of Madoc. There oldest daughter Eliza Thwaites married John Thompson and farmed up on Dickey Lake, north of Madoc. There oldest daughter Jane married Joseph Armstrong and they ran a store in Millbridge, Ont. They are my great grandparents. I have lots more infor on my Thwaites. Some went up north, etc.

The Book: "The Thwaites Family Genealogy Including the Ferguson, Edmonds and Dunford Branches of the Family" was compiled and edited by James M. Dunford 31 March 1991. It was printed by a private printer. He distributed the book primarily to family members who wanted to have a copy. Copies of the book have been given to the Alpena, Michigan Public Library, the Grace A. Dow Public Library in Midland, Michigan, and to the Historical Genealogy Department of the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I do not know if Mr. Dunford has any copies remaining. His supply was quite low in 1998. Contact me directly at sndruss@centurytel.net if you would like to have Mr. Dunford's address and telephone number. There are 57 Thwaites listed in the name index of the book.

Where do I find this book on the Thwaites?
My great grandmother was Mary Jane Thwaites married to Samuel Heyes. They lived in Ontario, Canada.
