I have the marriage certificate for the above and Marion Hunter dated the 5th Aug 1894. Benjamin is 29 and Marion is 19. Benjamins father is shown as Robert John Thwaites (deceased). I have looke in FreeBMD for Benjamins birth certificate and the only one listed is for 21st Nov 1865 which I have. On it though, Benjamins father is listed as Benjamin Thwaites. I cannot locate Benjamin or Robert on the 1871 census. Can anybody help please.

Hello, I have Robert Thwaites as a millers labourer in 1881 census unfortunately I have not put a reference so I found it ages ago! He was my 2x GT grandfather married to Eliza Perry in 1861 again not got the marriage cert ( sorry been working on another tree )so need to get proof. My gt grand mother was Jessie Ellen Thwaites have that cert.
No 492, 6th Feb 1881, John Thomas Field, full age, bachelor, book binder, of Newington, father Nathaniel Field, book binder.
Jessie Thwaites spinster of full age, of Newington, father Robert Thwaites, labourer. married at Trinity Church, st Mary Newington, Surrey. witnesses Edwin Rapley and Bettie Seager. Rector Danl A Moull?
Robert's parents were Robert and Ann Harrington who married in Washbrook 22 april 1827. Robert died in 1880 Cosford. from parish records. he was living in Cosford Union, a widowed pauper in 1871. Robert had a sister called Mary who married Daniel Gentry in Hadleigh in 1826

Wasn´t he fun to search for !
I don´t know why he listed Robert John on his marriage. There was a Robert John died in Lewisham in 1864 too early to have been the father (I think)
The Benjamin Thwaites (1839) listed on his birth cert. was married to Maria Beaver 1861 Portsea and died 12 april 1866 in Greenwich a seaman (as listed on marriage cert under Robert John.
Young Benjamin Thomas is to be found with mother Maria in 1871 and 1881 under her new married name Paffett/Poffett
Parents of Benjamin Thwaites (1839) are Thomas Thwaites and Harriott Child

Hope this helps
