There is a THRIFT web site with many different family trees; you can check to see if any of your relatives are listed. The site is called Clan Thrift, and is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~vashenan/clanthrift.html (edited by Alley (Thrift) Blackford, alleyb@worldnet.att.net).
We would love to have ALL Thrift family trees, from all over the world, appear there.
There is also an Email discussion group for anything remotely related to the Thrift surname. See http://www.rootsweb.com/~vashenan/thriftmaillist.html for details on how to sign up.

Seeking any Infomation about a Susan Thrift, married to James William Robertson, b. 14 Nov., 1850, Newberry Co., SC. He died 11 Aug. 1912, Newberry,SC. He is buried at the Ware Shoals Cementery, SC. She died around 1883-6 and is buried at the Coleman /Carter Family Cementery near Chapples and Dyson, SC. This is near or in Saluda Co., SC. Her grave site has no marker and appears to be no other info about her. Some say she may have had family in Abbeville Co., SC. Robertson worked on the railroad and could have traveled to other sections of SC. His second wife was Margarette Elizabeth Koon, b. 14 Feb. 1872, d. 28 Aug. 1909. She is also buried in Ware Shoals, SC. Susan and James Robertson had children, names are Rosa Lee Robertson, b.12 Aug. 1879, Newberry Co., SC, married to Samuel Alvin Carter, Sr. of Newberry and later of Ninety Six, SC, Greenwood Co. These are my grandfather and grandmother. Other issues are. Mattie Robertson, married to Betts of FL., Pierce (Scube) Robertson, b.27 Jan., 1877, d. 18 July 1938, buried near Ware Shoals, SC. He was married to Lucy Thompson. Any infomation about Susan Thrift will be great appreciated as I have hit a BIG wall about her. Best regards, Thomas D. McManus, tomcarmen10@hotmail.com
