Bible records- Charles Thrift descendants, Flanagan, Brown

Surnames: Thrift, Odle, Hagey, Flanagan, Brown
I have just received some Bible record transcripts from the DAR library, www.dar.org Call Number:MssColl 232 BoxYY fileSq-t. They were copied by hand and notarized: 1) one page by Louis H Flanagan in Metropolis, IL in 1928, and 2) 7 pages by Mrs Eliza Bruner Simpson (no location) in 1929. There was no description, but apparently these are the same records that Nancy A Brown was describing when she wrote (on her old web page at Clan Thrift) "I have records copied from a Bible owned by Charles Thrift III which was in possession of Elisa Simpson of Arkansas in the 1930's when Grace Thrift McKenney was doing research. I do not know where this Bible is today." However, most of the info here was NOT included on Nancy's Clan Thrift page.
There are 8 handwritten pages. Rather than scan them in as pdf files, I will post the info in traditional format. Unfortunately the notes that appear in superscript in my report come out as regular text here, so you'll get "CHARLESA, CHARLESB, NATHANIELC" etc; sorry.
Most of the info below is from the Bible records, but there is some that is from Nancy's other sources. Any locations listed here (Fairfax Co VA, KY, etc) were from Nancy's other data. This will all be entered (soon) and kept updated in my database at

1. CHARLES1 Thrift III (CHARLESA, CHARLESB, NATHANIELC, NATHANIELD FRITH III, NATHANIELE, NATHANIELF) was born January 27, 1782 in Fairfax Co, VA, and died September 04, 1847 in KY. He married KEZIAH ODLE December 07, 1805, daughter of HEZAKIAH ODLE and MARGRET UNKNOWN. She was born January 22, 1782, and died March 07, 1830.
note- the Bible transcript notarized by Louis H Flanagan in Metropolis, IL 12/3/1928 states his birth as 1/27/1782. The transcript notarized by Mrs. Elisa Bruner Simpson 11/4/1929 gives his birth date as "Jan. 2th 1782."
Note- in the Bible transcript notarized by Louis H Flanagan in Metropolis, IL 12/3/1928 her name appears to be written in cursive as "Theziah". The transcript notarized by Mrs. Elisa Bruner Simpson 11/4/1929 in all cases spells it "KEZIAH". I have seen her mother listed as Margaret Offutt.

ii. EMMA ALICE BROWN, b. July 02, 1857.

4. ALICE3 Thrift (BARRUCH O.2, CHARLES1, CHARLESA, CHARLESB, NATHANIELC, NATHANIELD FRITH III, NATHANIELE, NATHANIELF) was born July 26, 1849. She married L. C. FLANAGAN May 11, 1871.
Children of ALICE Thrift and L. FLANAGAN are:
i. JAMES CLIFTON4 Flanagan, b. April 25, 1874.
ii. LEWIS HAGEY Flanagan, b. June 25, 1875.

Keziah ODLE was daughter of Hezakiah and Margaret [Offutt?] Odle.
Margaret HAGEY was daughter of John & Catherine Hagey; Margaret's brother was Thomas HAGEY who died 1/17/1832.
William Brown was son of William & Catherine Brown.
No parents were listed for LC Flanagan.
Note that we now have at least two Flanagan families involved with Thrift families. In the future we probably need to make clear which Flanagans we refer to. This LC Flanagan must have been born by 1850, and is no known relation (yet) to the Robert Flanagin who was involved with George Thrift's family in VA before 1800.
