I've worked my way back to William Thrift, I'm trying to go back further, but I'm running into walls.

He was born around 1809.

His children are:
John Born 1836
George Born 1838
Calvin Born 1840
Pulaski Born 1842
Allen Born 1844
Spencer Born 1846
Mary A. Born 1848

Married ; Mar 1856 , Saluda Co., Sc to Rebecca (no surname found yet)

Obviously he had a first wife, but I can't find any record of him before the 1840 census. At that time he was in Newberry Co.

I am seeking info on a Susan Thrift married to James William Robertson, died Newberry Co. SC abt 1911.

I have found George W. Thrift, b abt 1840, fathered James, who father Evelyn in 1899. All from the upstate of SC. Any connections? I'm stuck on George who married Ann Stockman. Got all info from family Bible. Any info greatly appreciated!!

As I recall my great-grandfather Arthur Howard Thrift had a brother named Allen that lived in S.C. this set of thrifts came from the mts. of N.C.and woould be glad to share information if this might help.
