I am looking for information on Eleanor Thrall born in 1792 in MD. who married Joseph Babb. They lived in Illinois. One of their daughters, Ruth, (who went on to marry Samuel Mundell) was my husband's GG Grandmother. If you have any information on this family (Eleanor and her family,(also Ruth Babb Mundell) please contact me. Thank you so much. Nancy Mundell nanjan@cox.net

Re: Eleanor (Thrall) Babb
My GGGgrandmother was Martha Thrall, sister to Elanor, Eliza and Sophia Thrall. Martha married Daniel Hollenback. She died in 1864. They had 8 children. I was just framing a picture of Martha taken about 1860 when I read your message! Rehoboth, OH, was the home of the Thrall sisters. It is about 3 mi. north of New Lexington where Daniel's father Jacob and wife Susannah are buried. Also, Eliza Thrall married my GGGuncle Jacob Hollenback (Daniel's brother). For many years, the Thralls, Hollenbacks, Babbs, Kerricks, et al attended reunion near Pattonsburg, Ill starting in 1877 and finishing about 1937. How's that? Richard Hollenback

Re: Eleanor (Thrall) Babb
Eleanor and Joseph Babb are my ggggg parents. They were married in Ohio (probably) and then went to Marshall County, Illinois in 1830-31. There is a great site to see - Marshall County's genealogy called "piperspages.com". My ancestor is Ann Babb Bullman (Ruth's sister if it is the same family). Search her name and several articals from the "Old Settlers" will give you a great idea on what a great woman Eleanor was. Eleanor's parents were (I'm pretty sure): Samuel Thralls and Ann Collins. Joseph had at least one brother, Gen. Jonathan Babb. His parents (again pretty sure) William Babb or Babbs and Hamutel Beal.

Hello,
My name is Carol Babb. My husband is decendant of Eli Babb and Mary Thrall. I understand there is a connection between your Eleanor and our Mary. I would like to compare notes or see if you have more information on our the Babb's and Thralls.

Re: Eleanor (Thrall) Babb
Joseph Babb and Eleanor Thrall(s) are the end of my line. I have yet to confirm their parents. I know that Joseph was born in Maryland, moved to Perry Co., Ohio then moved to Marshall Co. Illinois. He had a brother Jonathan Babb, a General in the Ohio Milita. I know even less about Eleanor's early years. My knowledge really starts with Ann, their daughter. She was one of five girls and one boy (Benjamin) born in Ohio and migrated to Illinois and lived on Indian land. My grandmother use to tell us lots of stories about the wildiness of Ann's early life in Illinois. Joseph and Eleanor are buried in Babb Cemetery Hopewell, Marshall Co., Ill. Ruth Babb Mundell b. Aug 4, 1818 d Jun 1 1859 is there too.

Re: Eleanor (Thrall) Babb
This family is really hard to find information on. Sarah married Alexander Stock (my GGGrandfather). They had 4 children, Laura (b.1850), Clarence (b.1856), Benjamin (b.1857) and Alice (b.1864). Somewhere in his first ten years, Benjamin changed his name to Sylvester, then before he was married in 1878, he changed his name again to St. Clair Stock, which he used until he died. He was my great-grandfather. Clarence changed his name as a child to John C. Stock, and used that for the rest of his life. Sarah died from a gastric bleed as a young age of 55, I traveled to Metamora Il. a few years ago, and got a copy of her death certificate. She was an amazing woman of God. I found several stories from her life. I can give you more information if you would like. Jo Ann Stock.
