I'm researching some Thompsons and I can't get farther back than a certain one born in Ohio. Unfortunately, I have no idea where in OH! I'm seeking information on John Perry/Berry Thompson, b. 1841, somewhere in Ohio, m. Effie/Effa Elvira King, b. 1843, Indiana. Together they had at least the following children:

Cyntha E, b. about 1866 in Iowa
John Lewis, b. 1868 in Iowa
Emly/Emily J, b. about 1871 in Iowa
James A, b. about 1874 in Iowa
Charles E, b. about 1878 in Iowa

The family appears on the 1880 Trenton, Grundy County, MO census with the members shown above but John Perry and his son John Lewis both died in IA (in or very near Des Moines) so the family must have gone back to IA after being in MO for awhile.
