Thru with subject. Nothing proven even if it's Evan, Jr in church book. The weakness is in the theory and it's rejection is not based on church book- so forget that. The Will confirms my belief that this man was not connected to my husband's family.--different marks and children and no mention of Bucks per se. In addition to Absolutely nothing that even suggests he went VA in particular or left Bucks County. There are valid reasons that could have resulted in his selling that property and staying in Bucks. Certainly more probable than following three children of whom there is no trace to Loudoun County. In addition there is virtually no connection that is know to Bursons or Potts, no indication that Potts lived in New Britain. These people were Quakers.
Until it is proven that Jonas Potts married a daughter of Evan,Sr none of the theory makes sense. There is not even a hint of this or that Evan, Sr and his third wife Sarah had any children. Many, many holes with no proof but very creative speculation.
It' s theorists' right to think what ever they want. I am done and do not endorse their approach to judging evidence or any of their thinking-- as a longtime research/reference librarian with many years spent on Thomas of Bucks County. They fail to weigh negative information against theory but instead find a way no matter how unlikely or silly To make it work. That is working only to make it fit theory not get accurate information.
